Privacy policy

How we handle your information.

What we collect

After the quiz you see a rough result (e.g. which zone you lean toward). If you choose to unlock your full result, we ask for your email (required) and optionally for basic demographics: age range, whether you are a parent, if so how many children, and country or region. Every demographic question has a “Prefer not to say” option. You give this information voluntarily. We store your quiz answers and computed results on our backend so we can understand how people use the quiz and improve it. When you unlock, we associate your email and any demographic answers with that submission. We also use your IP address to infer approximate country or region (e.g. for analytics); we do not use it to identify you personally.

Email and consent

If you enter your email to unlock your full result, we use it to show you that result in the same session and we store it with your quiz submission. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately opt in. Any demographic answers (age range, parent status, number of children, country/region) are used only to understand who uses the quiz and to improve it, in line with this policy. Consent is given by a clear action (entering email and ticking the consent box).

Backend storage and IP

When you complete the quiz, we send your answers and results to our backend (Supabase) and store them there. We do not need your email for this—we still record the submission so we can see overall patterns. When our server receives the request, it can see your IP address; we use it only to infer approximate location (e.g. country or region) for analytics. Your classification, email (if you unlock), and demographics are also kept in your browser’s session storage until you close the tab.

Cookie banner and consent

When you first visit, we show a cookie banner so you can choose to accept or reject optional cookies. We use necessary cookies (e.g. to remember your consent). If you accept, we also load advertising cookies (see below). Your choice is stored in your browser (localStorage) and we do not have access to it unless we add a backend and say so here.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We may show ads on the site using Google AdSense. If you clicked “Accept” on the cookie banner, Google may set cookies and use data (including from this site and other sites) to show you relevant, personalised ads. You can control ad personalisation in Google’s ad settings. If you clicked “Reject optional”, we still show ads but only in non-personalised form (no advertising cookies or personalised targeting).

Analytics and cookies

If we add analytics (e.g. to count visits), we will update this policy and aim to use options that minimise or avoid personal data.
